The marketplace for self-guided audio tours with tickets to museums WeGoTrip raised $220K from private business angels, among which there are owners of other travel services.
WeGoTrip was founded in 2019. The main audience segment before the pandemic was American travelers to European cities. The startup survived the pandemic thanks to its pivot to the Russian market.
Today, the marketplace features more than 300 self-guided audio tours of the cities and popular museums in 83 cities of the world in English. More than 2000 travelers use the service every month. Previously, the startup received a small investment of $ 15,000 from Bank of Georgia as part of the 500 startups accelerator.
The funds raised will be used to expand the range of English-language audio tours, product development, and marketing.
According to the co-founder of the project, Alexander Golovatyy, the startup plans to raise a new round of investments within a year to mastify and launch products in other languages.
